Bible Study and Religion

I'm a Christian and I believe the Bible is the true Word of God. Maybe you don't agree. Maybe you've been turned off by the way some Christians act. Maybe you can't understand how a loving God would allow us to suffer. Maybe you're convinced scientists have proved evolution. These are all valid concerns.

I share ideas here with the hope that they might be an encouragement and hope for you. Life is hard enough that we sure don't need any more burdens. Personal experience has shown me that God is there even through difficulties.

I am not a Christian out of blind faith. In my studies of electrical engineering at the University of Minnesota, I did a lot of work in science and math. I love to analyze and prove things. I think there are good answers to how the Bible works with science. I build my faith on the Bible, history, and science.

Being a Christian is not following a set of outdated rules. It is a living experience. Christians have troubles just like anyone else, but following Christ can bring you great joy. A great promise is that "all things work for good to those that love God." (Rom. 8:28)

I am not a Christian out of fear. I trust that God is just and will give everyone a full and fair opportunity to choose His way. The Bible says that some day the knowledge of the Lord will fill the earth and it will be easier to choose right than wrong. I pray for that day to come soon.

I believe Christ is the only way we may gain eternal life, but there is so much grace available to all. I don't think that you need to be better than you are today to be loved by God. He loves us just how we are. I hope you choose to believe in Christ and follow him as leader in your life. I'd love to have eternity to get to know each of you.

There are many artificial walls that have been constructed by men...even among Christians. Remember not to concentrate on the details. Get the big picture on life. Make a positive contribution where you can.
