Making a Difference

"What can I do to help to keep kids out of prison, out of gangs, or off of drugs?" "What can I possibly do to help inner-city kids that are not so well off because their parents are in prison?" Maybe you think the situation is hopeless. When Church of the Open Door in Maple Grove thought about this question an idea came to mind: "Why not host a show with world-class variety entertainment for everyone to enjoy?" and that's exactly what they're doing!

The show is called "Too Much Fun!" and all the proceeds go toward helping under-privileged or at-risk kids through a program called Angel Tree <www.angeltree.org>. Last December, even the president of the United States, George Bush and his wife, helped to deliver gifts to forty inner-city kids in cooperation with Angel Tree.

So the next time you wonder if you can do anything to help seemingly hopeless kids, you can say "Hey, I'll go see a show, laugh, and enjoy myself." ...and you'll actually be helping.

Church of the Open Door presents the "Too Much Fun 2004" benefit variety show. World-class comedy, juggling, unicycling, magical illusions, and ventriloquism all rolled into one evening of fun entertainment for everyone. The show features the comedy juggling of Alan Johnson, world-champion unicyclist Dustin Kelm, and amazing illusions by award winning entertainer Toby Travis. You'll also see the incredible "quick change" act by Special Delivery (David & Lisa Horsager) that was recently seen at the Target Center Minnesota Lynx half-time show. Emceed by ventriloquist Mike Stenberg.
