FISM 2000 Gala Banquet Memories

I got my ticket...

So, some 2500 magicians are waiting for a final, closing night bash...a good meal and fantastic magic. Whoops ... a little disappointment in Portugal. They maybe had enough food to feed 500. Time to bring out the loaves and fishes...we needed a REAL miracle!

This is what my meal looked like...and I was willing to share! Hey, I got one garbonzo bean! Luckily, I decided that this was my night for fasting.

It was absolutely crazy. I've never seen so many people act like this was the end of the world and there was no more food left. There were actually people that fought for some raw meat and tried to grill it for themselves with ther own forks. Way to risk your lives, folks. Here's what the buffet tables looked like...the entire evening:

In spite of this snaffu, the conference was a lot of fun...and for the most part enjoyable.
